Gobardanga Naksha, a Theatre-based organisation since 1981, is 60 km away from Kolkata. Apart from producing theatre Naksha has been regularly organised several types of Seminar and Workshop not only for Theatre progress but also for up-liftment of slum children, child labor, deaf & dumb, blind children under the project of “In Search of Children Theatre”.
Last 31 years, Naksha produced 35 productions. Some of his notable productions are Kharir Gondi, Tin Paisar Pala, Yadi Are Ekbar, Dakghar, Ekhono, Lebedeff, Mahanagar, Atha Siksha Bichitra, Atmaja, Shani, Jion Pala, Ghorar Dimer Gappo, Swapn Swadesh, Rajar Ashukh, Range Bange Rabi, Bilasibala, Suva etc. Apart from all those productions, last 22 years Naksha also Produced near about hundred workshop-based productions.
Gobardanga Naksha awarded by Paschimbanga Natya Academy for production ATMAJA in the year 2003; ‘Bijon Bhattacharyay Smriti Puroskar’ received for production KHARIR GONDI by Bengal Shrachi in 2009. ‘Badal Sircar Smriti Samman’ for “Bilasibala” as best production for the year 2011 by Natya Panjika, Kolkata; ‘Shyamal Sen Smriti Samman’ by Swapnasandhanee and ‘Uttam Mukhopadhyay Smrak Samman’ by Meghdoot, Kolkata for ‘Total Theatre Activities’.
Ashis Das is one of the founder of Gobardanga Naksha. He is the Director of Naksha. He is completed M A (Drama-Direction) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata. Senior Fellowship awarded from the Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India in the fild of THEATRE. Resource person of Paschimbanga Natya Akademi, Shishu Kishor Akademi, Dept. of I. C. Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal. External examiner of Rabindra Bharati university(Dept. of Drama), kolkata. Ex-Guest Lecturer of W. B. U. T.(Media Science-Stage Production & Direction). Award : ‘Chitto Sarkar Theatre Samman’ for “Direction”; ‘SOVON Puroskar’ by Avijatri Natya Sanastha also awarded by Sanaskritik Samannay Mancha(Baroda).
Gobardanga Naksha has alot of admirable spectator, Naksha also gets assistance from EZCC, Paschimbanga Natya Academy, Dept. of I & C Affairs, Govt. of West Bengal, Sangeet Natak Akademi and Ministry of Culture, Govt. of India.
