The film retraces the journey route of Afanasy Nikitin, a trader of the Russian state during the region of Ivan the Great. Nikitin was the second European to have come to India, after Marco Polo and 30 years before Vasco-Da-Gama. The film by an expedition team, comprising of fourteen members, traversing Nikitin’s route tries to find out what had attracted Nikitin to India and how his journey influenced the other countries in the region.
