What is Power Yoga – vinyasa?
Power yoga, also sometimes referred to as Vinyasa yoga, is reputed to be a higher-intensity form of yoga than what is commonly known as “traditional” yoga. As it is a vigorous flow of postures it requires a certain degree of physical health.
Due to its stimulating and invigorating style of practice, many have found it to be a great alternative to their usual exercise routine as well as an inspiring change. With regular and sustained practice, one can observe a greater anchoring and stability in their movements, as well as an eventual increase in flexibility and stamina.
What Power Yoga – vinyasa is NOT:
Despite ongoing rumors in the media as well as many marketing lures, power yoga is NOT a quick fix solution for weight loss. A healthy weight and a strong/flexible body arise from a balanced state of mind developed through body & mind awareness.
Thus, healthy weight begins with a change in lifestyle, habits and thought patterns. Although it is often suggested for weight loss programs, power yoga, in itself, is not the solution. Rather, a holistic combination of exercise/diet/daily routine and above all Self knowledge (ie: yoga) is more likely to bring forth visible results.
Requirements & Registration for workshops:
- There are no requirements or previous yoga experience needed to attend the Introduction Workshop.
- There are pre-requisites for the Integration Workshop.
- MEN and WOMEN are welcomed, the workshops are mixed.
Yet, there are different types of yoga adapted for the different needs of people. Hence, a phone exchange/meeting may be required to determine your health/fitness level and evaluate if there are any kinds of physical ailments that may hinder your practice. As mentioned in the description of power yoga – vinyasa, this type of practice is not necessarily suited for everyone.
