Great deal of discussion and debate has been taking place in the contemporary world about Rembrandt and other master artists on the use of optical devices to help them create their stunning works on paper and canvas. This contention forms the basis of this show.
We intend to give you the experience of being inside the womb of darkness to create your artworks. Camera Obscura (Latin for “dark room” is an optical device that projects an image of its surroundings on a screen) has been re-created for experimentation at Galerie Daguerre.
Please bring your art materials (paper, canvas, tracing paper, colours, brushes, etc..) If you are an artist or a photographer and would like to participate and experiment in this Camera Obscura project, please call and fix up an appointment prior to coming to the gallery.
