Dr Monica Shah took her primary training in classical music from Shri Lalajibhai Chauhan of Agra Gharana. Her intense training in classical music started under the guidance of Surmani Dr. Pradipta Ganguly of Kirana Gharana. With utmost dedication and sincerity, she adopted the Style of Kirana Gharana and gharanedar gayaki of her Gurudada Pt. Rasiklal Aadharia. To add to achievement she has secured Gold Medals in Ph. D. in Music in 2001. She is also a successful director and founder of Aradhana Sangeet Academy (Ahmedabad).
Pulakji (or Pulak dada as we lovingly call him) received his initial and most intensive training in both vocal and sitar from his father and later continued under his father’s senior most Gurubhai, Pt Santosh Banerjee. To deepen his grasp of the Gayaki Ang (vocal style), he then took the guidance of the great stalwart of the Rampur Saheswan Gharana, Ustad Ghulam Akbar Khansaheb. Since coming to Mumbai some years ago, he has been under the adept guidance of Pt. Arvind Parekh, senior disciple of Ustad Vilayat Khansaheb. He is also Shruti’s chief mentor and Principal of Shruti School of Music (Mumbai).
