The comeback of some exclusive artworks to India after 4 decades (last showcased in India in 1960)
This second edition of Crossings – Time Unfolded is a play on modern juxtaposed with the contemporary art representing the historical artwork by well known artists. Many artworks as well as juxtapositions will are being exhibited in India for the first time since 1960 – such as Ranbir Kaleka’s ‘Crossings’, Rina Banerjee’s ‘Burnt Fruit’, Akbar Padamsee’s ‘Grey Nude’.
The title of the exhibition is drawn from Ranbir Kaleka’s four-screen video projections on four painted canvases, which is being exhibited in India for the first time, metaphorically highlighting the transitions from painting to new media and hinting at the simultaneous residual images.
